Johnson Controls introduces Metasys 15.0, a next-generation building automation system designed for mission-critical environments, offering unmatched scalability, resilience, and real-time energy management.

Metasys 15.0 sets a new benchmark for building automation systems
Johnson Controls (NYSE: JCI), a global leader in smart, healthy, and sustainable buildings, has announced the launch of Metasys 15.0, its flagship building automation system.
Designed for mission-critical environments, Metasys 15.0 delivers exceptional scalability, built-in resilience, and instant smart energy management, giving facility managers the tools to optimize performance, ensure compliance, and accelerate decarbonization. Key upgrades include support for up to 1,000 IP devices per server, a 60 percent increase over most building automation systems currently available, multi-server redundancy with simultaneous backup, and a preconfigured energy-management suite that provides real-time data and insights.
What the latest version of Metasys offers
“Building operators today face a complex landscape of energy goals, operational needs, and an evolving workforce,” said Kaishi Zhang, Vice President of Product Management for Building Automation Systems at Johnson Controls. “The latest version of Metasys delivers a secure and intuitive BMS platform that ensures reliability, simplifies energy oversight, and reduces the need for specialized labor, all essential for mission-critical applications where performance and uptime matter more than ever. We are excited to launch this long-awaited release, a technology that reflects Johnson Controls’ heritage and the continued commitment of our experts to redefining building automation.”
Metasys 15.0 streamlines deployment and ensures optimal scalability across single-site and multi-site campuses, offering a competitive edge for mission-critical sectors such as healthcare, data centers, and large-scale campus environments by boosting uptime and operational efficiency.
Key features of Metasys 15.0
Industry-leading scalability
With support for up to 50,000 objects and 1,000 IP devices per server, Metasys 15.0 can be deployed seamlessly across large healthcare campuses, universities, or multi-site enterprises without costly hardware upgrades. Because IP devices can communicate directly with the server, organizations can reduce infrastructure costs by as much as 60 percent by eliminating intermediate components.
24/7 data resiliency
The new multi-server redundancy ensures that critical alarms, trends, and audit logs are saved to two Metasys servers simultaneously, guaranteeing operational continuity, data availability, and compliance in mission-critical facilities such as hospitals and data centers.
Ready-to-use energy-management applications
The Energy Management suite provides turnkey applications that allow users to easily access and understand data on energy use, engineering productivity, and cybersecurity, supporting improved operations and long-term planning.
Rapid configuration
Facility managers can now configure and manage the system directly through the web client, reducing equipment setup time by nearly 95 percent compared to previous versions and eliminating the need for server shutdowns or external support.
Interoperability
As an open BAS solution, Metasys 15.0, together with previous versions, is widely recognized for its ability to support a broad range of third-party IT and OT protocols, including BACnet, MSPP, M-Bus, and others.
Metasys remains a cornerstone of the Johnson Controls product and solutions ecosystem, enabling seamless integration across a wide array of building technologies to optimize energy efficiency, performance, and thermal comfort. Combined with Johnson Controls’ HVAC systems, fire protection, advanced security solutions, and the OpenBlue ecosystem, supported by more than 40,000 technicians, the Metasys platform helps reduce operating costs and enhance return on investment.
