From November 19 to 21, Smart Building Expo returns to Fiera Milano as part of the Milan International Building Alliance (MIBA), Europe’s key event for technological innovation in the building sector. Through the synergy of four trade shows, Smart Building Expo, Made Expo, SICUREZZA, and GEE, the event promotes the green and digital transformation of the built environment in line with the EPBD4 directive.

The European hub for smart buildings and digital transformation
From November 19 to 21, Smart Building Expo will return to Fiera Milano as part of the Milan International Building Alliance (MIBA), the major European event focused on technological innovation in building and systems integration.
This joint initiative brings together four key trade shows—Smart Building Expo (technology integration), Made Expo (construction), SICUREZZA (security and fire protection), and GEE – Global Elevator Exhibition (horizontal and vertical mobility)—to offer a unified platform on the application of the EPBD4 directive and the green and digital transformation of the built environment. A sector poised to be one of the most dynamic and economically strategic in the coming years.
Smart Building Expo will once again serve as MIBA’s core event on BACS technologies, electrification, energy-saving systems and renewable energy. It will offer professionals a robust calendar of educational and informational sessions, along with valuable networking opportunities with top industry experts and leading companies.
Four innovation hubs, EPBD4 focus and key sector talks
The expo floor will host four “innovation squares,” dedicated areas featuring continuous talks and in-depth discussions covering everything from smart building architecture to system integration, with a strong emphasis on energy and sustainability.

In addition to the “innovation squares,” several special events with a high level of innovation will take place. Among the most notable are a session of in-depth analysis and reflection on the national application of EPBD4 (the European Directive on green buildings), ideally connected to a focus on the ongoing electrification process, organized in collaboration with Prosiel and ANIE. Also featured is the event From building to city, dedicated to the integration between buildings and urban areas within a grid-based approach. Other highlights include the event on Data Center Sustainability, organized with the engineering firm DEERNS, and a session reflecting on the relationship between Technological Innovation and Real Estate.
Smart Building Expo 2025 will also host the second National Smart Installer Meeting, a network of top-tier technical professionals recognized for service quality and certified expertise. This edition will include the launch of LIFE-SKEMA, a European project focused on reskilling technical workers for the energy transition.
Together with the initiatives of the other three MIBA exhibitions, Smart Building Expo 2025 will be a landmark event in Italy and one of Europe’s most influential gatherings for the smart building sector. The 2023 edition welcomed over 1,300 exhibitors and 80,000 visitors from more than 100 countries.
