Record battery recharge: Zeekr 001 charges from 0 to 80% in just 7 minutes

A video showing the Zeekr 001 charging from 0 to 80% in only seven minutes is shaking up the EV industry. The Chinese-backed Swedish brand proves that ultra-fast battery recharge is no longer science fiction but a glimpse of what’s coming next.

The Zeekr 001’s record-breaking recharge speed

From zero to 80 in seven minutes. It’s not about speed on the road, but about battery recharge. The Zeekr 001, an electric car from the Swedish brand owned by China’s Geely Group, has just set a new record in the EV world. In a video shared by content creator Felix Hamer, the car is seen charging from 0% to 80% in only seven minutes. It’s a milestone that could mark a turning point for electric vehicles. But let’s break it down.

One minute to exit the red zone

Zeekr has already begun expanding into Europe, with Italy expected to be part of the second wave in 2026. The brand is already active in Sweden and the Netherlands. In the video, the car moves from 4% to 10% in just one minute. It’s equipped with a 96 kWh LFP battery connected to a company “megawatt” charging station. The input power quickly surpasses 500 kW, reaching a peak of 1,321 kW.

The video of the ultra-fast battery recharge

After three minutes, the BEV reaches 50% battery capacity, and by six and a half minutes it’s at 80%. The estimated range is 568 km (about 353 miles) according to the Chinese CLTC cycle. The charging continues until full capacity, completed in 13 minutes and 23 seconds, with a declared range of 710 km (about 441 miles).

The results are astounding, suggesting that truly ultra-fast charging may be closer than we think. Of course, infrastructure makes the real difference. In this case, Zeekr used an ultra-fast charging station. But the technology for the leap forward is already here. Now, it’s only a matter of time.
