Munich becomes the epicenter of global automotive innovation
The stage of automotive innovation shifts to Munich, where Rinnovabili will also be present. From September 9 to 14, 2025, the German city will host the 73rd edition of IAA Mobility, a global benchmark for the future of mobility. Since replacing the Frankfurt Auto Show in 2021, the event has expanded its scope: the Munich exhibition center will host the main stage, while leading brands will showcase new vehicles across the historic city center, open to all visitors.
Audi
The highlight will be the new Q3 Sportback, a second-generation compact SUV coupé. With a sportier, more muscular design, it combines sedan-like dynamics with everyday practicality. Engine options include mild-hybrid and a plug-in hybrid capable of up to 118 km in electric-only mode.
BMW
BMW opens the show with the premiere of the all-electric BMW iX3, a Sport Activity Vehicle equipped with sixth-generation eDrive technology. Offering a range of up to 805 km and 400 kW peak charging, it redefines efficiency for long-distance driving. A new electronic and software architecture with four high-performance “super brain” computers debuts in this first Neue Klasse model.

BYD
China’s BYD presents the world premiere of the Seal 06 DM-1 Touring, a station wagon available in electric and plug-in hybrid versions, with a range of up to 1,505 km. With a comfortable, spacious cabin packed with the innovative technologies that distinguish BYD models, it comes in the D-segment size at 485 cm in length, with a trunk capacity ranging from 670 to 1,535 liters.
Cupra
Cupra unveils the Raval, its electric reinterpretation of Volkswagen’s ID.2, promising up to 450 km of range. Alongside the Raval, Cupra will unveil the Tindaya show car, showcasing the brand’s future design language. This concept car will offer more than just a hint of how upcoming models from the Spanish automaker will look, consolidating its role as a key player within the Volkswagen Group.
Kia
Kia’s main focus will be the EV4, its first electric vehicle to be produced in Europe, scheduled to debut in the fourth quarter of this year. Alongside this flagship model, the Korean brand will unveil the EV2 concept in show car form, offering a preview of its future strategies. But the news doesn’t stop there: the EV5 SUV and, most notably, the PV5 will also be on display. The latter marks an important milestone for Kia as its first commercial vehicle launched under the brand’s strategic plan, soon to be available in the European market.
Leapmotor
In Munich, Leapmotor is preparing to showcase its potential for the European market. The Chinese company, a partner of Stellantis, will present the final version of the B10, a compact mid-size electric SUV already launched in China. With a stated range of up to 600 km and a competitive price, the B10 aims to capture the mid-market segment. The brand will also unveil other key models, including the B01, a 4.77-meter electric sedan positioned as a direct competitor to the Tesla Model 3. Equipped with 56–67 kWh batteries, the B01 promises a range of more than 600 km under the CLTC cycle. Another anticipated debut is the B05, a C-segment hatchback previewing one of three models Leapmotor plans to launch in Europe within the next two years.
Mercedes
In Munich, Mercedes will shine with the new generation of the GLC, a model crucial for the brand’s future. For the first time, the GLC will also be available as a fully electric version, marking a significant change in Mercedes’ naming strategy. The automaker will abandon the “EQ” sub-brand in favor of the “EQ Technology” suffix. Built on the new modular MMA platform, the electric GLC is expected to combine efficiency and performance, delivering up to 490 hp and a maximum range of 650 km. In addition to the GLC, the German manufacturer will present an impressive lineup of new products. Mercedes-AMG will unveil to the public for the first time its Project XX, currently an electric hypercar in concept form with 1,360 hp, slated to enter production in 2026.
Omoda & Jaecoo
Chery Group will showcase its full European lineup under the Omoda and Jaecoo brands. The event will be an opportunity to present the latest models, including the Jaecoo 5 and the Omoda 7. The Jaecoo 5 will be offered with multiple powertrain options: gasoline, full hybrid, and a fully electric version with a range of around 400 km.
Opel
Opel returns to IAA Mobility with a focus on both its heritage and its future. To celebrate 60 years since the debut of the Opel Experimental GT, the first concept car by a European manufacturer, the brand will present the Corsa GSE Vision Gran Turismo. Other Opel debuts in Munich will be entirely electric. The production version of the new Opel Mokka GSE, a rally-inspired sporty variant, is expected to be revealed. The updated Opel Astra plug-in hybrid may also make its live debut, featuring a more powerful drivetrain and a new battery capable of delivering up to 85 km of all-electric range.
Renault
Renault has major announcements in store, starting with the next generation of its iconic Clio. The fifth generation of the model, while retaining its overall proportions, will feature an evolved design inspired by recent models like the Symbioz. The cabin will be redesigned, and the powertrain lineup is expected to focus on hybrid systems, to avoid overlapping with the Renault 5, which will be offered only as a fully electric car.
Skoda
Arriving in 2026, the new large electric SUV Vision 7S will stand out for its imposing size, measuring 4.9 meters in length. Skoda will also unveil the Vision O, a concept previewing its first fully electric station wagon.
Volkswagen
Volkswagen will close the show with the ID.2 in the spotlight. After a long and complex development process, the compact EV finally debuts in its production version. Named ID.2 All, it features proportions and lines reminiscent of the classic Polo. Alongside it will be the ID.2 X crossover, which for now will appear only as a concept. Completing the lineup, Volkswagen will present the new T-Roc, a model now offered exclusively with hybrid engines, featuring a more modern and dynamic design.
