Thanks to the new HEA•THOR heating element and the heat optimiser for dynamic electricity tariffs – the my-PV DTO – households can use renewable electricity for hot water and heating at an optimised price. The photovoltaic heating expert my PV will be presenting the new products for the first time at the ISH trade fair in March and at Intersolar Europe in May.
Price-optimised hot water generation
With the my-PV DTO (which stands for Dynamic Tariff Optimiser), anyone who has a dynamic electricity tariff can benefit from renewable and affordable energy. my-PV integrated the feature, which contains exchange market prices from 13 European countries, into its my-PV Cloud in March. By analysing individual user habits and technical parameters, my-PV DTO determines the best time for the heat supply based on the current exchange electricity prices. Users do not have to keep an eye on current prices because the system controls the heat generation fully automatically and activates the heating element in the boiler precisely when electricity prices are at their lowest. Commissioning in the my-PV Cloud is extremely simple and all operating data can be called up at any time.
“With the my-PV DTO, users can save up to 35 per cent of their electricity costs“, says my-PV Managing Director Dr Gerhard Rimpler. The feature works with all IoT-enabled my-PV devices: AC ELWA 2, AC•THOR, AC•THOR 9s and SOL•THOR. In combination with a photovoltaic system, the optimiser predicts the PV yield for the next day based on weather data and supplies users with inexpensive energy from the grid if the PV system is not supplying enough power due to bad weather or at night, for example.

Benefit even without your own PV system
Households without their own PV system can also benefit from price-optimised renewable energy in combination with the new HEA•THOR IoT heating element. The photovoltaic heating specialist my-PV is launching two versions of the device on the European market in the third quarter of 2025. While the single-phase version has an output of 3.5 kW, my-PV has designed the three-phase version for heating outputs of 9 kW.
The HEA-THOR can be installed in both hot water and buffer storage tanks. It is connected to the my-PV Cloud via LAN/WLAN. The HEA•THOR can be used with Ethernet RJ45, WLAN and RS485 as communication options. In conjunction with the HEA-THOR, the my-PV DTO provides users of dynamic electricity tariffs with a decisive opportunity to save costs in electrical heat generation. In addition, the HEA•THOR can also be controlled via the my-PV Cloud API or Modbus TCP / RTU to control via the DTO.

On show at leading trade fairs
my-PV will be presenting its new products for the first time from 17 to 21 March at ISH, the world’s leading trade fair for for HVAC + water, in Frankfurt. Visitors will find the company in Hall 12.1, Stand B91. From 7 to 9 May, my-PV will be presenting its solutions at the stand of its partner KOSTAL Solar Electric at the world’s leading trade fair for the solar industry, Intersolar Europe in Munich in Hall B3, Stand 130. The photovoltaic heating specialist will be offering journalists individual press conferences at both trade fairs.
About my-PV
Located in Neuzeug, Austria, the manufacturer my-PV GmbH was founded in 2011. Since then, it has developed into a major manufacturer for photovoltaic water heating systems. Since 2018, my-PV has also been thinking solar-electrically in the heating and space heating sector. In August 2021, the company relocated to the unique solar-electric company building at Betriebsstraße 12 in 4523 Neuzeug in Upper Austria. In Neuzeug, my-PV develops and produces devices that combine photovoltaic systems with products for the heating sector. Currently 65 employees work for my-PV.
